Carlisle’s Diary ~ Planning a Wedding (Alice’s POV)

May 9, 2013

Dear Diary:

Now that everyone was moved in and happy with their surroundings, I could get what I wanted; to plan Amy and Peter’s wedding. So on a day when the sun was shining particularly bright, I took the couple into the woods and found a little lake. I brought along a notebook and my little Intel tablet. Then got down to business:

“Ok guys. You’ve moved in; check. You’re happy with the move; check. Now it’s time to plan your wedding. I’m going to ask you the basics and make everything really easy for you. So Amy, I assume you’ll want a white dress?”

“Yes, Alice.” Amy smiled.

“Ok, what do you want the dress to look like? I mean strapless, off the shoulder, sleeves?” I inquired.

“Hmmmm…..I think I want something with a full sleeve and lots of lace. Kind of make it medieval if possible.” Amy said thoughtfully.

I clapped my hands together. “Perfect! That’ll be the theme of the wedding; Medieval Romance. How does that sound?” They both smiled eagerly. I liked the way this was going.

“Ok, now cake, colors, flowers, and music?” I said quickly.

Then realized I may be going a bit too fast. Not everyone is that quick when it comes to planning. I’m a total natural, if I do say so myself.  But Amy surprised me, she had been thinking about it too.

“Ok Alice, I love strawberries, so if you can make the cake look like a castle and have strawberries inside, that would be awesome! Let’s make the colors burgundy and green. We like hydrangeas, moss, and roses. And we’ll let you pick the music.” Amy said. Peter was nodding.

“Wow! I’m so proud of you guys!” I hugged them both. Then I said: “Ok so do you want to walk down the aisle to the ‘Here Comes the Bride Song’ or something else?”

“We prefer Pachelbel Canon.” Peter spoke up to my surprise. I didn’t know he liked Classical music but that didn’t really surprise me much.

“Check! Ok let’s see what else do I need from you……hmmm….what about food?”

“Anything Esme makes is good enough for me. She’s so talented!” Amy said.

“Alright, I’ll let her know. Alright guys, I’ll let you go and play and if I need anything else I’ll let you know but I think I have a pretty good idea of what I need. I promise to make it absolutely perfect!” I exclaimed.

“We believe you Alice.” Amy smiled.

Then we said goodbye and parted ways. I ran back to the house and ran up the stairs. I closed the door to my and Jazz’s room. I plopped down in my favorite location; my amazingly huge walk in closet and began making notes and sketches. I decided that I needed about a month to get everything ready. I was going to go online and look at the most perfect dress for Amy. Music was the easiest since we had a lot of talented musicians in the house and Edward could play Pachelbel Canon for Amy’s walk down the aisle. Food wasn’t much harder; Esme with the help of Bella and Rosalie could whip up a feast for the Gods. Hell, even the Gods don’t have feasts this amazing!

Burgundy and green are beautiful colors that look really well together. Moss is so easy to find in New Hampshire. We have a ton in the forest behind our house! Just then I remembered something I forgot to ask Amy and grabbed my cell phone, dialed her number and waited:

“Hey, Amy! I totally forgot one of the most important things. How many bridesmaids and who’s the maid of honor and flower girl? What color should the dresses be?”

“Oh that’s easy. Rogue as maid of honor. Corin as a bridesmaid and Michelle as the flower girl. I know Peter wants Alexander as best man and Keith as an usher. Green for the dresses; I don’t really care what they look like as long as they have a vintage look to them.” Amy said thoughtfully.

“Perfect! Sorry for being so scatter-brained! Those are like the very basic questions. Ugh!” I grumbled. Amy laughed on the other end.

“Don’t worry Alice, I know you’ll make it perfect.”

“I definitely will!” Then we hung up.

Just then Jasper walked into our room and saw what I was doing. He walked into the closet, looked over my shoulder at all the notes I had scattered all over the place and said:

“Keeping busy, my dear?”

“Always.” Then he kissed me.

I totally forgot what I was planning, for who, and why. He always has this effect on me. God I love him. He must have felt my mood and drew back with a smile.

“I love you Alice.” He said seriously then.

“Aww, I love you too Jazz. Why the serious face?”

“Well I know you can see the future so I wasn’t going to make up my mind until I felt it was the right moment.”

“Wait…what….what decision?” I said puzzled.

“Mary Alice Brandon, will you marry me? Again?” Jasper said with a smile. I gasped. How could I have not seen this?

“You mean like renew our vows? I thought you didn’t like any of that stuff?”

“I didn’t. But then I saw how many times you plan weddings for others and I know how much something like that would mean to you. We don’t have to make it a huge thing, unless you want to.” Jasper said thoughtfully.

“But…..but….what about Amy and Peter’s wedding?”

“Well we can do this after. I don’t think Corin and Seth or Leah and Keith will be getting married anytime soon. They still have to get to know each other even though they did imprint. From what I understood from Keith, Leah wants to take it slow. And he’s fine with it.” Jasper explained.

I thought of this thoroughly. Yeah we can totally do that! We can have Amy and Peter’s wedding and then have our own. Then perhaps even go on another honeymoon…..speaking of honeymoon…..oh boy….another thing I forgot to ask Amy! Am I losing my touch? Nah….can’t be. Jasper felt my emotions fluctuate and I think I may have given him a headache because he had to shake his head….oops! With a giggle, I kissed him on the lips and shaking his head he left the room again leaving me to my “devices” as he said. I could never figure out what he meant by that. Anywho…..where was I? Oh yes….asking Amy about where she wanted to have her honeymoon. Again fishing out my cellphone, I called Amy. I hope she wouldn’t regret giving me her number, I thought with a giggle.

“Hi Alice….Peter and I would like to have our honeymoon in Ireland.” She said before I could get a word out.

“Wait a minute….how did you know I was going to ask that?”

“Well, though we don’t use it often, we also do have the power to see the future. We just choose not to. But in this case, I think I may need to….hahahaha.” She giggled. Oh boy.

“I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I hope you won’t regret giving me your number. Or perhaps you’ll just text me the next time when you think I may call to bug you with something.” I said sheepishly.

“Don’t worry about it Alice. We trust you.” Peter said. He must have been standing next to Amy. Then we again hung up.

Now I really had a lot of work to do, I dug out my laptop. It was under the covers in the bedroom. Then I headed back into the closet…..yeah I know how strange that sounds. I scooted over my notes, sat down, and started googling vintage wedding dresses and equally vintage bridesmaids’ dresses. Then looked for castle cakes and found everything that I was looking for. I ordered everything needed. I’d already gotten all of their measurements. (Pictures are below) I couldn’t wait to put it all together. It was going to look so phenomenal! I couldn’t wait to get started. But I had to wait for everything to arrive. The only things that we weren’t going to buy or rent, was the music and the actual food.

It wasn’t going to be a big wedding. The guests were well, our family which were comprised of Carlisle, Esme, Emmett, Rosalie, Bella, Edward, Nessie, Jasper and moi. The wolves which technically are family anywho; Jacob, Seth, and Leah. Then there’s Michelle’s parents, Maria and John. We want to invite the Denali’s; Tanya, Kate, Garrett, Carmen, and Elizear. And Amy mentioned the Watchers in Toronto as well as a few within the US of A. She promised to give me the addresses of them all. I don’t think we’ll have more than 50 people. Which for me is considered pretty small; but if you think about, the size doesn’t matter, as long as you are celebrating with people you love and who love you. Since the Watchers don’t follow any particular religion, I’m going to go to the Court of Justice and ask a judge to preside over it. The judge will stay long enough to perform the ceremony and then leave.

I don’t foresee anything going wrong. Even better, afterwards, when Amy and Peter return from their honeymoon which I’m making sure they’re going to be gone for at least 2 weeks, then Jazz and I will have our own renewal of vows. Because with Edward around, keeping secrets is nearly impossible unless you’re A) a Watcher or B) under Bella’s shield, everyone already knows what’s going on and they seem to be very happy for me. Rose and Nessie want to go shopping for MY wedding like now! No no no….we are going to plan and have Amy and Peter’s wedding before I even attempt to plan my own. Besides, I already have a ton of ideas. Oh come on now, have we just met? This is me you’re talking to….well I’m writing to you…..erm….you get the point.

Though I am wonderful at multi-tasking, I am humble and don’t think about only myself. I try to make everyone happy even though I will admit I do tend to go overboard sometimes. Just please don’t tell Bella about this admission. I will never hear the end of it. Thankfully, Bella and Edward are currently out hunting with Carlisle and Esme. Regardless, I always make sure to have an awesome outcome. I haven’t disappointed anyone yet.

I do promise however that I am going to make this the most modern medieval wedding anyone’s ever seen!

Love always,

Alice ;)
