Sadly, The facade of Forks High School is now gone to make way for a new school. Read below to see what Seattle Times has reported:
From Seattle Times:
A popular spot for ‘Twilight’ fans to have their pictures taken in Forks is gone.
The facade of Forks High School came down this month as the building is being demolished to make way for a new school.
The Peninsula Daily News reports a campaign to raise $287,000 to save the 86-year-old facade raised only a few thousand dollars. It was one site in the Olympic Peninsula town visited by fans of the teen vampire-romance books and movies.
A terra cotta cornerstone and lintel reading “Quillayute High School” will be preserved in the new school.
Everyone thought there was a time capsule in the old cornerstone. All they found was a badly deteriorated copy of a 1925 weekly newspaper.
The facade (front part) of the Quillayute Valley High School in Forks, WA — the real-life version of the high school in Twilight — is about to disappear, reports Gossip Cop:
“School officials had hoped to integrate the original building’s main doorway and front into the new campus set to replace the leaky, recently demolished school.
The tentative plan would have used the facade as a stand-alone entrance to the new building.
But in the construction proposal accepted on Friday, it was revealed that saving the facade would cost $271,000.
It will be destroyed.”
